Harnessing the power of Technology
7 Reasons Why Students Should Continue Their Dance Education Online
Dancers have worked hard for their training and they owe it to themselves to continue even though they are at home.
Online dance training will enrich what they’ve learned in the studio.
Online dance education will make them analytical, thoughtful and critical thinkers.
It will teach them that “the show must go on” even when plans change or challenges arise.
It will keep them physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy while they are quarantined.
It will give them a sense of connection and community when they’re not seeing their friends.
It will help them to maintain a sense of normalcy and routine while so much is happening around them.
As a result, we have spoken with dance educators around the globe who have been teaching online for a year in order to leverage their best practices for our context. In addition, thanks to generous international donors, we have been able to purchase lighting and sound equipment to make the online experience as seamless as possible.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Alumni Sy Naet Nin represented Cambodia during the 2020 Joint ASEAN Societies online reception in London.
We are so proud of Sy Naet and her passion in representing Cambodia on an international stage.
We are proud to be the only school in Cambodia that offers the RAD syllabus, the world's #1 dance education program. Their exams set standards in classical ballet and they are a global leader in Continuing Professional Development for dance.
AT A GLANCE
Here at English Ballet Theatre Cambodia, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all through art and dance based interaction. We have been operating in the city of Phnom Penh in the Kingdom of Cambodia since 2012 and provide classical western ballet and contemporary dance training for children and adults and community dance for children in residential care.
One Step at a Time
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to provide the highest quality dance education to all ages and abilities. Starting with young children at the age of 3 years old, each level is systematically designed to meet the dancer where they are and encourage them to grow physically and emotionally as artists.
A Hidden Power
Inspired by the transformative power dance had on his own life, Founder and Artist Director Stephen Bimson saw the deeper potential of the art form and now wishes to provide a space where others are given the same opportunity.
Our community outreach programs provide children in residential care with the chance to participate in a wide variety of dynamic dance and theatre training. Our focus is on developing creative and critical thinking skills, perseverance and personal resilience - tools which will be indispensable as they prepare to reintegrate into Cambodian society.
Building The Future
Vocational education and training play a prominent roll in a country's social and economical advancement. We provide opportunities for students to gain internationally recognized qualifications through the Royal Academy of Dance as well as a verity of in-house training programs including teaching apprenticeship and artistic mentoring.
